Mhairi Gibbons Jewellery Workshop and Learning Centre proudly celebrates its first anniversary, marking a significant milestone in this already amazing journey.
Time has flown by remarkably fast, and it’s hard to believe that just a year ago, the workshop was merely a vision beginning to be brought to life.
The rapid pace of growth and development has been nothing short of terrifying and exhilarating all at once, filled with countless memorable moments, ups and downs, and so many remarkable achievements.
Throughout this year, I've hosted a variety of classes, catering to individuals of all skill levels, from complete beginners eager to learn the basics of jewellery making to more experienced makers looking to refine their techniques. Each class has been designed to inspire creativity and foster a love for the art of jewellery making, with participants leaving not only with new skills but also with unique pieces they can proudly call their own.
In addition to classes, I've also successfully completed numerous bespoke client orders, each one crafted with meticulous attention to detail and a personal touch. These custom pieces have allowed my clients to express their individuality and celebrate special moments in their lives, whether it be an engagement ring, a commemorative piece, or a gift for a loved one. The satisfaction of delivering these one-of-a-kind creations has definitely been a highlight of this first year of opening.
Furthermore, I've recently launched a new trade offering with support from the amazingly supportive department store Rejects, in nearby Kirkcaldy. This has been met with such enthusiasm and excitement from Rejects and my own customers and I'm looking forward to finding more stockists around the UK.
Moving in to year two, I'm looking forward to continuing this journey of creativity, community and more with you, as well as continuing to work on my own skills as an aspiring successful goldsmith.
As this new venture gains increased momentum, I hope it promises to enhance this workshop's role as a key figure in the local jewellery making landscape, teaching new skills, developing existing skills and providing a workshop space to those who need it.
As always, my sincerest of thanks to all who support me, whether that's on socials, in classes, or when buying and commissioning.
I hope you know how much I appreciate you for helping to make all of this a reality!
Here goes for year two....
